so..today on my way to gym..pink comes on the radio..

..this girl has got some controversial lyrics and for those of you skeptics..also some very clever and thought provoking songs..

..to me this song questions do we ever just take a moment to appreciate the little things in life..

SEE THE INNOCENCE....

..for many people.. including myself..one of the most frustrating aspects of life is not being able to understand other people's behaviour..

we see them as "guilty" instead of "innocent"..

it's easy to focus on people's irrational behaviour, their comments, actions, selfish acts - and get extremely frustrated..

if we focus too much on behaviour..it will seem like people are trying to make us miserable..





..it's true other people do weird things (who doesn't)..but as we are the ones getting upset..we are the ones that need to change..we need to learn to be less bothered by the actions of others..

SEEING THE INNOCENCE..is a powerful tool for transformation..

..it means that if someone is acting in a way we don't like..

we can distance ourselves from that behaviour.. 'look beyond it' ..so we can see the innocence in where the behaviour is coming from..

so the next time someone acts in a strange way..look for that innocence in their behaviour..then the same things that have always frustrated you..no longer do!

when your not frustrated by the actions of others..you can stay focused on the beauty of

life x

..for a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin..real life..but there was always some obstacle in the way..something to be gotten through first..some unfinished business..time still to be served..a debt to be paid.

this perspective has helped me to see there is no way to happiness..

..at uni this term i am studying 'cultural diversity'..while researching last night came upon these lyrics from 'South Pacific' by Rogers & Hammerstein..thought i'd share..

..not only did this reiterate to me how important it is to accept peoples differences..it reminded me how vital it is to be so careful when raising our children what values and beliefs we pass on to them..we need to be sure that they are accepting of others and willing to learn about other peoples backgrounds..and that what we may see as totally different from us on the outside may turn out to be so similar on the inside..

cultural diversity is part of our society and its so important to learn how to acknowledge similarities and embrace difference..

as culture and values are taught to us from an early age..we must educate this next generation to be tolerant towards others 'different' from themselves..
different isn't a bad thing..it's just different x

BRAVERY..

the choice about what events arise in my life won't always be mine..there will be times against my desires or wishes..i will have to find the strength to move through difficult situations..doing the best i can..however ill-equipped i feel..

that is BRAVERY..it's keeping going..when you don't want to..

and what has this taught me..

...that i can't always control what happens to me..but i can choose to face it the best way i know how..and remember..that no single event..no matter how massive or overwhelming it feels..

..is all of who i am!

..i read this book MANY years before the movie came out..and for anyone who hasn't had the priveledge of reading this..you need to..it is one of the most beautiful love stories of all time..

it shows that true love isn't easy but by making the choice to work at it everyday..

it can include our thoughts..emotions..interests..values..

RIP SUSHI

well i awoke today to find my old faithful fishy had passed on..

i remember the day my bestie bought him as a house warming present..we went to Zushi Sushi(best sushi on the GC) and sent him for a ride on the sushi train..and hence named him SUSHI x

he was a simple creature..only swam clockwise and never ran away..he always listened to me and never judged..i will miss you Sush xx

SUPER SATURDAY...

so today is Saturday..traditional sleep-in day in our household.. i love waking up late..switch on my beloved coffee machine and laze in bed..

NOT THIS SATURDAY!!

this morning i awoke to my alarm at 6:05am..put on my tights and headed out the door..to..wait for it..

my very first Yoga class!! one can only imagine my mixed emotions..but my mind was prepared..just wish my body was..OMG!! anyone out there that thinks yoga is a easy..THINK AGAIN!! after learning the fine art of breathing (i enjoyed that part) my body began to feel muscles burning that i never knew existed..and i found out i can't balance like i used when i was eleven..but i mastered many new positions this morning and will be practising my downward dog before heading back monday night..
