..to those affected by the floods..

i have so much i want to say...

..like so many...

my heart aches for all the loss and pain you must be suffering..

..i do not know what it feels like to have been through a flood..

..but i do know loss..

..and i know that i do not want to call you victims..

..for you are survivors..

and i know that the road ahead is going to be tough and i am sure that there are going to

be times that you will feel like there is no hope...

..i just pray at this time you can find inner strength and peace..

..this is a time to not be afraid to ask those you trust for help..

..embrace your loved ones and find comfort in them..

i don't know why..but when i was posting my last blog about heroes..

..the song 'hero' by mariah carey kept playing over in my mind..

so for tonight.. this is what i want to leave you with...

there's a hero..if you look inside your heart..

..you don't have to be afraid of what you are...

there's an answer.. if you reach inside your soul..

and the sorrow that you know will melt away..

its a long road..you don't have to face it alone..

..people will reach out a hand for you to hold..

..Lord knows dreams are going to be hard to follow..

..but don't let anything tear them away..

..hold on..there will be a new tomorrow..

and in time you WILL find the way.

then a hero comes along..with the strength to carry on..

..and you cast your fears aside..and you know you will survive..

so when you feel like hope is gone..

look inside you and BE STRONG..

for you'll finally see the truth..
